Amidst sips and conversations, they learned that the town's speaker also served at the Council Hall. Caulkin, ever observant, noticed a mysterious figure in the bar, though he remained an enigma without engaging.
As the evening unfolded, chance encounters led the group to Markham and a human woman named Duvessa. Engaging in conversation, they discovered that Duvessa, a former trader and merchant in Waterdeep, had been the town's speaker for the past few years. Intrigued by the mysteries of Bryn Shander, the group decided to explore further.
Their journey took them to the Frozen Leaf Apothecary, where they met Liza and made essential purchases for the road ahead. Further exploration introduced them to Sirac at the temple, where worshipers revered the Triad—Tyr for justice, Torm for courage and self-sacrifice, and Ilmater for perseverance and endurance.
Guided by the knowledgeable Beldore, the group familiarized themselves with the town's landmarks—the Temple, The Council Hall, various stores, and the three different gates, each guarded by two sentinels. Beldora, a well-informed ally, shared the name of the enigmatic traveler, Baric, a newcomer to Bryn Shander.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by a booming voice, echoing a demand to surrender Artus Cimber, prompting chaos in the market and town square. Assigned NPCs to protect, the group found themselves in a grueling battle against three giants and two wolves. Their valor and strategic prowess prevailed, leading to a hard-fought victory and a collective ascent to level 6.
