We struggle to open the large frozen door in front of us. We rip off one of the lanterns on the wall, but it extinguishes. Caulkin and RC see that the natural light that used to shine in from the outside is no longer present. Glittr and Harshnag examine the entrance which is now blocked by a 60’ stone wall/door.
We enter a large road with a giant statue in front of us. There is a the same light frost on everything in the room except the statue. The ceiling is about 80 - 100’ high. There are 7 large statues, with the largest being in the middle. The statues are on the size are kneeling in rows, and stand about 30’ high. They depict the six different giants we have seen thus far. On the eastern wall see a large 40’ archway with a glowing mist beyond it. Scones line the room similarly to what we saw in the hallway. The frost giant statue is the one without a weapon. They are all holding different weapons. These statues all have vague similarities to the races they are trying to depict.
(Clockwise) Hill (club weapon), stone (large rock), frost (item missing), fire (an iron great sword), cloud (a spear tipped in mithral), storm (a trident made of material Glittr is unfamiliar with). The frost giant’s hands are placed in a way that it looks like they are making an offering to the statue of Annam in the middle. There are no offering plates or bowls at the base of the statue for Annam. The grandeur of the state is with its size, not its detailing. Glittr knows that in some faiths, if you do not know what a god looks like, do not assign it features, which is likely what is hpanneing with the Annam statue.
We ask Harshnag to place the Frost Giant Gong in the hands of the statue. Nothing happens. He hits it like a gong, but nothing happens.
Brylwynn looks into the glowing archway. She seems something carved on the inside of the archway and blue mist. She approaches the arch and attempts to read the enscripture. She recognizes some of the runes around the archway.
In the room, RC sees four other doors, two or the north and two to the south.
Caulkin steps through the archway and into the mist. The mist feels very room tebmperature, but nothing happens. Around him, is a minimalist room. While Caulkin is exploring the room, Pearl uses identity and knows the mist is caused by Conjuration. Brylwynn uses dispel magic on the mist. The mist does not disappear. Instead, the runes in the archway begin to glow.
As she tries to disturb the essence of the room, they all glow. They all fade away, except the 4th one stay glowing. Then, in the temple room, storm clouds begin to spread out from the temple room, engulfing the entire chamber. Thunder roars and lighting cracks as a storm breaks out in the room. Caulkin and Bahmut are deafened by the thunder and take lightning damage. The storm turns to hail and then rain as we all hide in the domed room.
RC touches one of the runes, which glows as frozen blocks of ice fall from the ceiling and hurt the party.
Glittr, Ari, RC, and Bahmut work and try to get the ice off one of the other four doors in the large chamber. Harshnag opens the door which reveals a large room with a roaring fireplace. There is a light source from this fireplace. We see pillars close to us, and large tables and benches.
We enter the room to the south, which we realize both south doors lead to. Harshnag looks on the tops of the tables, but sees nothing malicious. There is an area in the middle where animals were slaughtered for meals, but no sacrifices were made. RC notices another fire based scorpion that we battled in the cave a few days ago. A tough battle ensues and Brylwynn is swallowed by the monster. We manage to save her from the creature.
