Pearl Needs Life Alert
S02E68
The battle carries on. After a hard battle we fight all of the harpooning sea creatures and fighters off. We managed to break the magical stakes that were holding King Hekaton down in the ship. We share with him information we have gathered along the way, trying to gain his trust.
We convince King Hekaton to trust us for a brief moment, however he wants to confirm with his daughter all of the information we are sharing.
We find the dead Wizard’s Spellbook on his body
Brylwynn flirts with the captain as she lets him know that we’ll be teleporting with the conch instead of sailing back with him.
We take the First Mate Treasure Chest that we find the hull of the ship. Pearl takes a handful of the dust left over from the stakes we smashed.
We decide Caulkin is attuned to the conch and we teleport back to the Court of the Storm Giants. We make our way to the throne room as King Hekaton and Serissa meet up and reunite. She explains to him Iymrith’s betrayal. We share some other information such as us working with Zephyros and Harshnag.
She states that she is glad her father is alive and that she is glad we saved her father. She states that Iymrith has not returned to their home without her disguise. Iymrith stole the scepter as part of her guise and the storm giants have not yet been able to reassume the throne.
Serissa states that they have found where she resides. She had made her desert deep in the Anauroch desert, far to the east. She can prepare the teleportation spell now that her father is back.
He states that his daughter has made him proud and she will make a perfect heir one day. “You are my daughter first and my heir second.”
Serissa states that her mother trusted smallfolk. She states that while her father does not trust smallfolk, but we have been instrumental in exposing Iymrith and saving King Hekaton. “The enemy isn’t giant against smallfolk, but giant and smallfolk against dragon.” Serissa offers us the opportunity to hunt down Iymrith with her father. We all accept this offer and agree to help her take down the dragon.
As her as thanks, Serissa states that we will “fight as giants ourselves.” She steps away for a moment. She returns a few minutes and says “when the time comes, use these. One for each of the brave warriors who will stand with us against the dragon.” We get Potions of Giant Size, but these are some of the last potions of giant size that exist. The potions are to help us fight Iymrith, but this is to help seal the bond between smallfolk and giant. “Consider it a token of our mutual interest in killing dragons now and forever more.”
She hands us the Claw of the Wyrm Rune.
Her uncle, Uther, leads us downstairs while Serissa and Hekaton stay back to talk. He leads us to the sleeping quarters we were once at. “I have news of your friend. Our tests have been thorough and she has not responded all together well. We are currently looking for a cure to her affliction. But we pushed her to her magical extremes and I am unsure what it means. She herself seems unsure of her capabilities and what power they have … Her body has become encased in scales but we are looking for a solution.”
“We had mock battles with her and she responded well to Wyverns… her body almost seemed to respond to it. When the Wyvern died, so did some of the scales.”
We examine the lock on the First Mate’s chest. Caulk manages to open the lock while not triggering the magical trap set on the lock. Inside the chest we find 180 gold pieces, daggers, a set of playing cards used for cheating, a spyglass worth 1,000 gold pieces, and a jar of thick green viscous liquid, and a small leatherbound book. THe book appears to be the musings of the person (the first mate) who wrote it, and talking about someone wanting to kill Captain Daggerdart.
Caulkin flips through the book and he sees the name of the Captain. The Captain is crazy and thinks he has a direct line of communication with the kraken Slarkrethel.
We identity the green liquid as a Jar of Dragon Blood and the spellbook from the Wizard and there are 1st - 9th level spells
We go to rest for the night. That evening Glittr dreams of beautiful mountain peaks that rise into the sky. Atop the mountain there is a beautiful yellow glow, similar to one of Lliira’s normal glow. It is the same color of the creature that seeks your age. As he looks as it, the light seems to draw him and, beckoning for aid. The longer he watches, storm clouds develop at the top of the peak. They turn into a dark red and the red eventually turns into a gross, black color. The clouds condense and then all becomes still. The clouds compress into a single sphere which then begins to split. In the split, there is a giant eye staring directly down at him.” He wakes up in a cold sweat and he feels like he is being watched. After waking, the burning resolve he feels and devotion towards Lliira grows and he levels up.
That night Brylwynn also feels a great knowledge a sense about spellcasting as she levels up as well. As her knowledge grows, she also unlocks a magical secret as the innate magic within her expands.
RC has experienced more monsters and threats. He has made pacts with monsters he once vowed to hunt and his skill with the bow expanded and he continues to hunt. He reaches level 10 as well.
Caulkin feels his dagger glowing on his side. He feels the ability to strike in Kelemvor’s name.
The next morning we headed up to the throne room. Serissa states, this is the day the seek revenge on Iymrith. She brings us to the teleportation room. We are accompanied by the king and some of their strongest warriors. We feel the magical thud as we teleport into the desert. We feel the brisk warm wind and sand beneath our feet. There is a churning sky of black crowds. We see a crumbling amphitheater surrounded by statues and two large trebuchets atop.
We are about 1,500 feet away from the amphitheater.
