Waterdeep
About
This is a very large city with several different districts within it
The home of Caulkin and where he grew up
This is the city where our P.O. Box is set and prepaid for five years
Districts
Castle ward - where Castle Waterdeep is. Many wealthy people who aren’t nobles themselves live here. Think like… lower Manhattan.
Locations:
The Citadel - A large library where we read about giants in the book: The A-Z of Giants
Dock ward- as it sounds. If there’s a seedy deal to be made, it will probably be made here. Think Bushwick
Locations:
The Sorcerer’s Stone, an alchemist’s shop
Field Ward - the newest area. Not within the inner walls. The poorer people live here. Think Alphabet city
North Ward - This is where the nobles live. Old Money. This is the Upper East Side
Sea Ward - New money. Think west village. Merchants. Younger.
Locations:
Spotted Deer Inn - The Inn we stayed at during our trip here
Southern Ward - The stables, warehouse, shops, etc. This is like… the Greenpoint/LIC of Waterdeep where the ugly amenities live. People don’t necessarily live here.
Trade ward- As it sounds. The small area of commerce. Think Midtown. A lot goes on, but it’s like a fairground. Dead at night when the commerce ends.
City of the Dead - a walled cemetery. It’s a park during the day despite being buried dead beneath. It’s central park
The Yawning Portal Inn is an entrance of the Undermountain
Inhabitants
Laeral Silverhand, the Lord of Waterdeep
The Roaringhouse Family, family who we know Artus Cimber (Bryn Shander) has a relationship with, per his son Sirac
