Our First Ship Heist

S02E22

We develop an extravagant plan to raid the Sea Bitch. Ari swims under the ships and sends messages to Caulkin who is invisible and sneaks onto the ship with Thava’s help, transformed into a cat. Caulkin advances further into the lower portion of the ship as the sailors throw Thava overboard. Thava is attacked and then killed by 2 sailors as she tries to spider climb up the boat. Back in the captain’s quarters Caulkin finds 3 pieces of gold, in 2 drawers he finds some parchment purchase orders (1000 platinum, spices, silks, etc.), and Caulkin tries to unlock a locked drawer. He opens the ‘ahmwah’ and as that happens he sees a glowing glyph and is hit with a green arrow. Back at the desk Caulkin finds rolled up parchment, a potion, and a scroll with arcane writing on it. Caulkin finds nothing else in the room as Captain Kirth walks in. Ari swims over and sends a message to Glittr who warns her of the activity on the deck. We manage to get off the ship and decide to flee the town.

On a trail out of town, we reconvene and look at the items that Caulkin was able to steal. Yrdlyn identifies the deep, red potion as a Potion of Greater Healing. Brylwynn is able to read the map which is an ocean based map (Luskan, Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldur’s gate, and Candledeep to the right. There are islands called the Whale Bones to the west, Finback is the largest island, and there’s another island called Ruathym. Gundarlun is north of that. There’s a chain of islands called the Korinn Archipelago which are to the west of Baldur’s Gate, and west of Candlekeep are the Moonshae Isles. There’s another dot called “Giant Whirlpool, Avoid.” The Scroll is a Scroll of Detect Thoughts.

We continue on our journey with the intention of looking for the Weevil. On the 4th evening of our journey Pearl and Glittr are on watch, Fey emerges from the woods who says “Surprise, bitches. I bet you thought you saw the last of me.” She states that she did go to the Shadow Fell and was with the Raven Queen for a while. Fey was let go because it would be “more entertaining” if Fey was released because she is entertained by the effort that the Price of Frost is putting up. Fey reveals a black, shiny sword that looks to be made of obsidian. Pearl also sees, what looks like, blood that is trickling on the blade.

Fey also mentions that there was a thinner plane near the Spine of the World where she was able to get through. Fey also reveals that she went home to where Pearl and Fey came from. Fey also notes that someone in the Shadow Fell is interested in Yrdlyn and to ensure she is the right person, they need some of her blood on the obsidian sword. The sword is a token and reader for the Raven Queen, who is connected to the sword as she cannot come to this plane of existence.

A fight breaks out and during the fight Fey cuts Yrdlyn with the black sword which then begins glowing. As the sword glows, we feel our consciousness leave our bodies and we arrive in the Shadow Fell.
