Why is Your Coin on a Dead Queen's Body?
S02E61
RC speaks up on behalf of the group. He mentions we are here on behalf of the Harpers and are familiar with what is going on with the Ordning. The giant who was in the center of the room singing responds. “Nym look what we have here. We have some puny little small folk here telling us our court is in disarray.” Caulkin whos off his Harper badge.
The woman (Mirran) responding says she doesn't know who the Harpers are.
Some members of the group get a whisper.
The other sister, Nym, off to the side hasn’t said a word the entire time.
RC uses his primeval awareness to try and detect the dragon we were told was hiding somewhere in the court. He gets a ping that there is a dragon and elementals in the vicinity. Mirran calls us stupid and boring.
RC shares that Annam sent us. Mirran said “Annam, the breaker of the ordning. Why should we believe you?” She looks around at her guards and claims that no one has been there for centuries and does not believe us
She offers us a room to stay in as they arrange a meeting with Serissa as we requested.
We get to the quarters and wait. Caulkin mentions that Mirran was always speaking rhetorically to Nym. Nym did not talk much and pushed to kill us easily, so there’s a bit of suspicion around her and if she is actually Iymrith in guise.
RC uses legendlore to garner information on Iymrith the blue dragon so we can determine if the storm giant sisters would know who she is or not. By the time RC is done catching Legend Lore about an hour has passed since we were put in the room.
The world goes dark for RC for a moment while he casts the spell. He sees a patch of yellow roses appear in front of him that appear they are blowing in the breeze. He hears in his head that Iymrith is a powerful and ancient blue dragon. “The doom of the desert. The seeker of the Wyrmskull throne. Sower of lies. She hides behind giants and small folk who do her bidding.”
While we discuss what to do, Glittr hears giant being spoken from behind the door. It opens and we see a stone giant walk into the room. He asks who we are and what we found out at the temple of the All-Father.
He states that Nym and Mirran are vial and they are planning on killing us. They can’t know that we are on your side. Val the cloud giant is vain, he will want treasure to flip on the sisters. Tartha the fire giant hates dragons more than anything. If you tell him there is a dragon in the court he will question the sisters. Hellenhild is the one of the most pompous fighters of all giant kinds, focusing on damaging her first and then she will have enough respect to not kill us.
As the giant walks away Ari uses detect thoughts which helps confirm the giant is telling the truth.
The guard giant returns to the room to move us along. We enter back into the main room and are encountered by 8 giants. We have a plan to do exactly what we were told: Offer Val treasure, claim there is a dragon nearby to Tartha, and deal damage to Hellenhild. On the way out of the room Ari sends a message to Pearl, asking her to give us a magic item to Val.
Slowly as the fight carries on we manage to turn the giants to be aligned in our favor. The two sisters run off up the stairs. Glittr offers Val the Weevil’s +1 axes which he accepts instead of 3,000 gold pieces.
The one giant who was near Pearl shouts “the princesses are gone!” and begins running. The one closer to the group sheaths his sword and says, “you came seaking princess Serissa right?”
One of the giants states that he does not know where the princesses went, but we should speak with Uthor. He is King Hekaton’s brother and Serissa’s closest advisor.
We head upstairs and see what looks like an amphitheater. As we walk into the room we see three heads swivel in our direction. In the center there is a stone giant sitting on a massive throne, there is a beautiful female storm giant on her right. There is a male storm giant on her left. They see us and ask what is going on.
