I Don’t Know if I Have Questions but I Certainly Do Have Comments
S02E62
We talk to Serissa who sits on the Wyrmskull throne. We talk to Serissa and share the early portions of our journey. She appears to be interested in our journey and our pursuits. The two giants who flank her at the throne try to convince her that we smallfolk are liars and to not believe us. She mentions that many people are wanting to make it to the top of the ordning. Every giant race is trying to make it to the top of Ordning now that the order is unarranged.
Brylywnn mentions that we had been to the Temple of the All-Father and Serissa mentions that we are aid sent by Annam. The male giant next to her who was tensed up, releases the tight grid on his sword and appears to destress a little.
Serissa speaks about her mother and that smallfolk were the people who killed her mother. (We had heard this rumor before that The Lord’s Alliance had something to do with her death). She turns to the male giant and says, “Uthor I do not know where to turn and these smallfolk are the first sign that we can do everything we want at one to bring peace to giants and smallfolk, elevate Storm Giants to the top of the ordning once more, and figure out what happened to her mother.”
Serissa talks to the two giants at her side who are still weary of her helping us, especially the female advisor. She addresses the female advisor as Iymrith. She stands up and goes to grab something out of her satchell. She appears to grab a scepter from her bag. She states that she thinks we will be able to help and she is doing to give us the lead she was given concerning who killed her mother.
The Storm Giant advisor who was identified as Iymrith begins screaming and cursing in Draconic. “You are all fools! You are all doomed to die. Humans and giants will never work together once more.” Iymrith then grabs the scepter from Serissa’s hands. “You were the fools from that temple. You will die by my hand.” She begins casting teleport. She disappears.
The scepter is involved with why the storm giants have remained in power for so long. Something is blocking their view and ability to find the Storm King as told to us by Serissa. Serissa hands us a token with a duck on it. King Hekaton has/had dozens of conches that he provided the giants all around the Sword Coast to get to the court whenever they were summoned by him.
As we talk to Serissa and make plans, Ari speaks Iymrith’s name. As she does, Ari gains more scales. The same inky effect happens to her skin and scales. We agree to go investigate the coin and determine its connection to queen Neri’s death.
Ari is sent away to figure out what is happening to her and her dragon scales. She leaves us forever as agrees to stay in King Hekaton’s Court to get experimented on.
The throne and scepter are not useful if they aren’t together, so Iymrith hasn’t gained any power by taking it. It was a gift from Queen Neri to King Hekaton about 200 years ago. Ari asks about the gated area she saw while swimming. Serissa says “it's the storm giant Leviathan.” Ari senses that this was more of a joke.
The group says our final goodbyes to Ari as our means of transportation are readied. [It is dusk]
We debate about where we want to get teleported to. We debate either going into the hull of The Great Dame or into the town of Yartar. We know the boat is just setting sail at dusk so there are likely a lot of people around.
We successfully teleport to The Yartar Docks and we spot the Grand Dame off in the distance. As we approach the boat we come up with a plan to get on the ship. RC will get on the ship separately from the group and act as if he is a traveler from far away. Pearl, Brylwynn, and Glittr get on the ship and as they do, Lord Drylund recognizes them. They deceive him and state it's Brylwynn’s birthday and he lets them on reluctantly. Caulkin is turned invisible and sneaks on the ship with the plan of sneaking into areas we were unable to access before.
Brylwynn is unable to get past the guard but with a successful lie, Glittr notes that he has a meeting with the Lord. Him and Caulkin are able to sneak past and get to the top of the ship. One of the guards goes to get Lord Drylund.
Back on the deck Brylwynn continues to act as a birthday girl and RC asks about the gambling tables after winning his first 25 gold. RC talks with a party guest.
After some tricky work and almost a failed attempt, Glittr speaks to Lord Drylund who enters his office. Caulkin manages to sneak into his small office. He sees a small desk and his pet octopus in a tank, but that is pretty much it. As this happens, Glittr runs back downstairs and comes up with a plan with RC to lead Lord Drylund out of his office. We are unsuccessful in this. He does leave his office after about 30 minutes.
Back in Lord Drylund’s office, Caulkin takes a look around. He sees a chest underneath. He detects a lock and disarms it. After opening the chest he finds 9x 50 gold piece gem stones and 450 worth of gold.
Caulkin then leaves and sneaks into the bottom of the ship. He finds nothing of importance.
After becoming annoyed upon not finding anything we come up with a new plan. We manage to get him alone in his office again with some persuasion. Back in his office we have him alone. Brylwynn asks why his coin was found on Queen Neri’s body. He is shaking, turns pale, and lies about not knowing who Queen Neri is.
“The people of the Kraken Society. King Hekaon is being kept about the stupid Ship Morekoth which is sailing out on the Trackless Sea. The stupid sisters told someone in the Kraken Society to ‘take care of their mother and keep their father busy’. He is being kept bound out on the trackless sea.”
As we ask another question, he begins to choke. His eyes widen and turn black as he chokes. Blood rushes out of his nose as his head begins compacting in front of us. He falls to the floor and begins convulsing.”
Caulkin has 5 more minutes of invisibility
