The One Where Glitter Dies
S02E39
We decide to chat in the tavern about our next steps to take. RC’s eye patch begins to glow as he uses Legend Lore. He feels the wind whipping around his ears as if he is on the top of a mountain. RC senses that while the monster is strong, it is not quite legendary. We pass through the central market of Everlund and head towards the Moon Gleam Tower. We head to the outskirts of the town and climb up a small hill as we approach the tower, which is surrounded by a moat. There is one main tower with 4 smaller towers behind it. We see 5 unmarked guards. On the towers we see a moon sigil.
We decide to walk around the towers and scope them out. We don’t see anything significant. We look around the market but don’t see anything of use. We head back to Danivarr's House. Pearl talks to the bartender asking if there is a temple for the Raven Queen in the town.
Pearl, RC, and Caulkin head to the 3rd floor to talk to Dral Thelev. Caulkin shows him the Insignia of Triboar which was previously given to him by Darathra. Dral knows Krowen, who he states runs the Moon Glean Tower, and he can get us into the tower when desired. The Moon Glean Tower is the Harper’s strong hold in the city.
The next morning Pearl trots off to visit the shrine of the Raven Queen. She lights her Fall Scenter Winter Candy Apple candle at the shrine praying to the Raven Queen, looking for a sign. Pearl feels a hand on her shoulder and sees the cloak of the Raven Queen, only briefly before they disappear, but she knows the Raven Queen has heard her.
We meet up Dral who offers us some wine. As we take sips, we are teleported into the Moon Gleam Tower itself. We wake up in a thin and well-dressed room. There are several winged, cat-like creatures perusing the room. We speak with an old man who we find out is Krowen Valharrow. We speak with Krowen. He shares that a storm giant queen has died and no one knows under what circumstances. He shares rumor that The Lord’s Alliance was behind the murder, which is a rumor we’ve heard before.
The murdered giant was Neri, the Storm Giant Queen. No one has heard from the Storm King since that time. We
Rave is an extended associated of Krowen’s at best. They can be a thorn in Krowen’s side. Krowen identifies the shapeshifting Tiger as Rakasha, a Harper Associate. They are creatures from the Nine Hells, a different plane of our current existence.
“Harshnag is a little preoccupied at the moment.” Krowen suggests that we present this information to the High Harper. We all report to the High Harper in some capacity, and Krowen is tasked with filtering out impactful from non-impactfun information. The High Harper resides in Silverymoon as well. There are two libraries we could visit to read more. Candlekeep (this is further south than Baldur’s Gate) and in Silverymoon.
Silverymoon is like boundary pushing. There are a lot of arcane arts being practiced here, pushing maginc to the limits. More is encouraged there versus it being a lawless place. There are a lot of elves and half-elves there. It is a center of learning. They take information there and try to learn more about it. Their tastes are a little more refined there in Silverymoon as the elven roots run deep.
We are going there under Harper name. If we tarnish it, we will no longer benefit from speaking to the High Harper.
The four of us are ushered out and Caulkin is left behind to speak with Krowen. He shares directions with Caulkin and other information more Harper Lore the rest of us are not privy to. Caulkin shares the insight that everyone around seems to think of Larael is a very positive light.
○ We remember that Larael disappeared about 20 years ago and only re-appeared bout 3-4 years ago.
● We begin our journey to Silverymoon. On our journey, we see an Elven man with flaming red hair. He drops a dagger right in front of Caulkin, who addresses Caulkin by, “Xanras.” The man has a glowering glimmering #6 on his palm that he shows to Caulkin. The man with red hair calls Caulkin. “You don’t deserve to be #5 and you won’t be for much longer.”
○ A fight ensues with #6 and a redheaded woman appears who conjures a large barded wire wall. The red head and spell casting woman mangle the group. Glittr dies but Brylwynn revivifys him. Caulkin’s unconscious body is left on the group as the two assailants retreat into the woods.
