Hyuth was Robbed(?)
S02E32
At the end of the battle, we notice that the giants have a similar rod to the fire giants we have encountered before. Matbann (750 gold) also finds a ruby pendant in one of their pockets. We follow after Darathra and head inside. We speak with her. She shares that there was a break in (robbery) in town recently at Hyuth’s house. He’s a wealthy man who lives on the outskirts of town and used to be an adventurer. He tends to be a rude, unpleasant, and uppity person.
We ask for an award for killing the giants. Darathra asks if we know The Harpers. We share that Caulkin is a Harper and she gives him a token which is a platinum badge on it with three boar charging into each other. It is the Insignia of Triboar, which signals that we have done Darathra and the town of Triboar a great favor. Take and show the Badge to Dral Thelev in Everlund. If you give it to him, he will point you on your way. It will make Caulkin’s introduction to Krowen Valharrow much easier.
Glittr and Matbann notice statues on Hyuth’s house. He says there is a misconception about the robbery. He is unsure if the Hand of Yartar robbed him or not. He shows us the Symbol of the Shava, that he found his one one of the two corpses he killed. There were 5 in total, but they were unable to take anything from him. Him being robbed is a myth around and nothing was taken.
The other member killed had a lot of self-inflicted wounds from self-flagellation. This is a religious practice made amongst the constituents of Lovitar.
On the way out we recognize the symbol or Sigil of a Lit Candle of an Open Eye. This is the Sigil of Deneir, the god of knowledge and writing.
The statues that live on his house are actually gargoyles that will attack people who ask. He teaches out about the stats of gargoyles.
We head to Yartar and arrive late at night. Yartar is a walled city and the guards recommend we stay at The Laughing Hands Inn.
The next morning we learn from the barkeep that Nestra is the Water Baron, is the recently elected official of the town. We headed to a small bakery for some fresh goods. Pearl sees shrines to Chauntea, (agriculture), Helm, Tymora (goddess of good fortune), and Waukeen (goddess of trade). We reached the Riverside Bakery. Jassin is the person working the counter at the bakery who sells us pastries. We can head to The Grand Dame down by the docks if we want to visit the upper crust of the town. We also learn the nicer Inn is the Waterside Inn, where the locals visit.
Down at the docks, we see thinner boats as the city is situated on a river. A sailor points out The Grand Dame which is a boat on the side of the river. It is a triple decker boat that is very nautical chic. The middle layer is more yacht-like. If we come back in the evening, we can convince Lord Dryland to let us on the boat. They don’t allow weapons of any sort on board. Captain Lord Drylund is in nautical themed armor with a captain’s hat, with an octopus wrapped around him like a shall. Pearl, Brylynn, and Glittr recognize a woman with the symbol of Lovitar talking to him. Glittr recognizes her as Krislynn, Glittr’s mother.
We are told to stash our weapons at the town hall and come back in the evening.
