This Is My First Time Having Elven Nectar
S03E12
Ashera is Sister’s name, that we learned from The Artist Formerly Known As #6. He also shares with us that his village is about 1.5 days travel from here, about 0.5 days journey from the High Peak. RC casts cure wounds on some of the people who were unconscious on the battlefield.
Caulkin asks #2 if he knows where Brother and Sister, Ashera, are likely going to Jalanthar, a place they’ve to in the past. There is a temple of Beshaba there and it is located just east of Everlund.
#2 (Former #6) shares with us that he trained for years. Ask him to show us the Grandfather Tree and we walk around it, which takes about 2 minutes. #2 wants to return to this village and report back to Myrrh. Myrrh leads the defense of their village.
We turn our attention to what appears to be a natural staircase that goes beneath the three. We tell him the story of us breaking one Shadow Shard in the necklace and rescuing Larael and advise him not to touch any piece of the Shadow Shard.
We head down and see nothing of significance at first. There is no writing or runes on the wall and the tunnel looks several hundred years old. About 60’ further down, we see a closed door with a glowing light coming from behind it. Caulkin, heading the group, is able to see a bright purple org. He throws a rock, but nothing happens. We move forward and see a large room intertwined with the roots from the tree. We get closer to the glowing org and recognize it to be a Shadow Shard. We see runes glowing on the black obsidian stone. We still do not recognize the language on the stone.
We investigate the room and detect a deep, deep necrotic energy. It feels like our life essence is being drawn towards the stone and we gather the tree’s life is being drained by the tree. #2 recalls that the Grandfather Tree up until recently was alive and doing well. He does not believe that the Shadow Shard had been here all along. RC investigates the dirt and gathers that something necromantic happened here recently.
From our fight with Brother, we know he was using spells primarily from the School of Necromancy.
Pearl thinks back to her studies with Fey as she was studying to become a Cleric. There are a variety of religion based gods; we just fought in a template dedicated to one of them. We guess this tree is one that most likely gains its power from Silvanus, one of the most powerful nature gods.
Valyun, #2, shares that his village is on our way to The High Peak and it might be a good place to rest for the night. We share our names with him and officially meet him.
The name of his recently departed elder, the old #2, was Katyr.
[It is around 6-7:00 pm] We arrive at his village. As we approach everyone but Pearl, who is tired from Raise The Dead, and Brylwynn, we get the distinct feeling that we are being watched. Valyun shares that it has felt like that for days and there are also no other living creatures around. Something has happened recently that has made this happen. RC asks Glittr if what the feelings they are experiencing now are similar to what he feels in his visio from the giant eye. He says yes.
The Starmounts are the highest peaks here in the High Forest.
As we walk into the village, we see a picturesque elven village. For being around 7:00 pm, the city is rather quiet from what is to be expected. Valyun is greeted by some townsfolk who ask if Katyr survived the battle to which he responds "no.” He shares that Myrrh has been doing all she can lately, but tensions are still high given all of the recent events. He shows us a thatched roof house where we can stay for the night. He does warn us that the local elven nectar drink is strong for non-elven folk.
Being the only elven person in the group, Glittr takes the first sip of the nectar which is VERY strong. Caulkin manages to drink the nectar okay, but RC becomes inebriated. RC hiccups and tease-asks Caulkin about #2 as a love interest. Caulkin denies this, but also mentions Valyun’s hair in the process.
Everyone else in this village aside from us are wood elves.
While we walk around we run into Valyun again who confirms that Myrrh will meet with us in the morning. Valyun asks Caulkin to get another drink with him at the fountain as the rest of us head to the hut for the night.
Valyun discusses his upbringing and training under Tootledge. The two of them share sentiments with one another.
As the other three of us walk into the hut, we see someone sitting inside. Off to the side, we see Vanneak, who Glittr and Brylwynn recognize from Lliira’s Night Festival.
Glittr waits for
That night Glittr gets a dream. The beautiful orange, red, and yellow Unicorn Creature looks at him and all its urgency seems to have left its voice. “Glittr, as you know Lliira’s power has been waning. Darkness rises to the east. I feel it. It was… it began below my mountain and seeped out eastward. Seek me at the top of the mountains where I will be making my stand against the darkness.”
In the morning, we notice the hut is empty. Vanneak and his belongings are gone, but he left a note for Glittr.
RC casts Legend Lore on the Startmount. Nothing major comes back, but not too much is known about them. RC asks Caulkin to see if he got a Sending Stone from Valyun. We tease him for a bit as he notices the salt and pepper in his shoes.
Valyun meets us in the morning. He shares that it would be worthwhile to visit the old druid, Sythryn, an elder of the town. He lives up on a hill in town. He is known to craft magical items.
We visit Myrrh, but she doesn’t tell us much more than we already know and have learned from Valyun.
Myrrh
The leader of #2, The Artist Formerly Known As #6's Village, at the base of the Starmounts in the High Forest.
The half-elven ranger that Glittr and Brylwynn helped during Lliira's Night. He has a twin sister named Reyna who Krislynn referred to as "packages" about them making it to the Baldur's Gate safely.
The Fountain
The fountain located in Myrrh and #2, The Artist Formerly Known As #6's Village where the strong, elven nectar drink is found. Glittr took a flash of this potent beverage for future use
